The Reál Deál
We are a family live entertainment variety band of multi-instrumentalists from the Los Angeles area who share a very eclectic taste in good music. We all have a classical music training background and have developed our own individual sense of style, creativity and love for music. Our musical influences are wide ranging and impossible to put in one box. We are eager and excited to bring our musical visions to the stage and entertain you with our covers of all time classics as well as today's hits. We are available for private events including weddings, birthdays, graduations, corporate events or any type of public or private gatherings that call for great music.

Mitchell Villareal is a founding member of The Reál Deál and one of the band’s versatile multi-instrumentalists. While he primarily serves as a lead vocalist and guitarist, audiences may also find him performing on drums, bass, and keyboards. Classically trained in piano from a young age, Mitchell began playing electric guitar at the age of nine and has since taken up other instruments.
As a young musician, Mitchell produced and recorded numerous cover songs for his YouTube channel, “Moskeedog.” He continues to create and produce music, including collaborating with his sister, Megan Villareal, on several of her original singles. His tastes span genres including ’90s alternative, pop punk, emo, classic rock, current chart hits, and old-school hip-hop.
In addition to performing with The Reál Deál, Mitchell works as a mobile DJ with Audio Essence Entertainment, bringing a broad appreciation for music across generations and genres. Outside of music, he is a cybersecurity professional and a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Megan Villareal is a founding member of The Reál Deál, but everyone calls her Meg. She is a classically trained musician who has enjoyed Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) since 2009, songwriting, and all things Taylor Swift for as long as she can remember. While she began learning piano at the age of one, her interests expanded as she experimented with the acoustic guitar and the electric bass. Funny enough, when “The Reál Deál” was forming (before they even had the name), she was named the “reluctant” band member, as it was always a struggle for her to get up and rehearse. As you can tell, that is no longer the case.
Megan writes her own original music and has releases on all major platforms.
In the near future, her biggest goal is to release more of her own original music and explore many different areas of her career. When she is not at school, training, or rehearsal, she enjoys scrolling on TikTok, writing and recording her own original songs, and eating poke bowls.

Michael Villareal is a founding member of The Reál Deál and although he is a classically trained pianist who started playing the age of 6, he is the primary drummer for the band but did not start playing the drums until the band was formed in 2023. Michael Villareal is a founding member of The Reál Deál and although he is a classically trained pianist who started playing the age of 6, he is the primary drummer for the band but did not start playing the drums until the band was formed in 2023. Having a background in piano, you will sometimes find him on the keys during shows.
His musical influences range from RnB to classic rock, from pop punk to modern pop, 80s, 90s and everything around it.
Professionally, outside the band, he is a 30 year retired veteran of the LAPD and a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is also a member of Audio Essence Entertainment providing services as a mobile DJ.
He manages day to day band affairs including booking, equipment, logistics and making sure each and every band member is fed.

But with so many influences, he's always had a hard time identifying what inspires him most as a musician. Rock and metal, blues, classical, electronic… he doesn't care, he just likes good music. So, when the Reál Deál decided to take their passion to the stage, blending everything they like into one unique sound to give YOU a uniquely good time, he felt right at home. Some of his favorite bands include Trivium, Muse, Green Day, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sum 41. Outside of music, he loves going for walks, “reading” audiobooks, hanging out at the beach, and chilling at home with his fluffy cat.

Illasell Tan is one of the vocalists and co-bassists of The Reál Deál who started singing at a very young age. Outside of the band, she sings at many restaurants, concerts, events, and private gigs. Additionally, she enjoys making music, playing instruments, recording song covers, and sharing them on social media. After playing the bass for fun for five years, she later joined the band and began bringing her passion for playing onto stage. Illasell also writes her own original music and currently has releases on all music platforms.
Pop, rock, OPM, music from the ’70s/’80s, K-pop, and other Asian pop/R&B genres are some of her musical influences. OPM ballads have greatly inspired her musically and influenced her belting style of singing, which she brings to the many diverse genres she performs as a vocalist.
Outside of music, Illasell is a college student who enjoys creating all kinds of art—films, drawings, paintings, and graphic designs. Her other interests include watching TV shows, going out with friends, enjoying sweet treats and drinks, and Jollibee.
